Melvil's Corner
I am a handsome yellow kitten, and I am the Library's mascot! The library staff found me trapped under the library during the Hurricane! I was very hungry and a little sick , but I am better now. I spend most of my time at Mrs. Sunny's house with all my animal friends, but I "work" at the library on Wednesdays from 10-6 and on Saturdays from 10 - 2. Be sure to stop by for all the fun activities going on this month!
ROYAL FARMS DONATION
The Harrington Public Library was very happy to receive a $500 donation from Royal Farms. The donation was given to the library during the Grand Opening ceremony for the new Royal Farms store in Harrington. When you visit the store, let them know how much you appreciate their support of your library!
FRIENDS OF THE HARRINGTON PUBLIC LIBRARY NEWS
On November 17, 2011 at Harrington Casino, representatives from 32 Delaware organizations were awarded financial grants by the Mid-Del Charitable Foundation. Mr. Howell F. Wallace, President of the Mid-Del Charitable Foundation, along with the presiding officers and directors distributed grants to 32 organizations including the Friends of the Harrington Public Library.
The Friends of the Harrington Public Library is a volunteer organization founded in 1980 to provide additional support for the library through fundraising, solicitation, and help with projects and programs.
The funds will be used for a variety of programs for all ages including the winter and summer reading clubs, presentations by community organizations, and materials for Story Time programs.
The Friends wish to thank the Foundation for their continuing support of the Harrington Public Library.
